Tina had gone out on a sunny afternoon after being called by a girl to go and help her Mother who
had tried to take her own life. After Tina had bandaged the lady's wrists, I saw her leaving the
lady's house, and saw Tina was about to leave the flats where we lived. Tina never told me what had
just happened but explained she was on her way out to visit her friend, and gave me a set of our
house keys...saying she would be home later. Our Mother had already asked me to let Tina know she
must stay at home. I did try telling Tina, but being four years younger than her...and previously
had an usual Sisterly argument the night before, i wanted to be on good terms with Tina...and never
said much about it, and was happy to get a smile from her which meant...i knew we were friends
again! Tina handed me her set of keys, and said she would be home later that evening. This was a
moment as clear as yesterday. However the very next morning, I found out Tina had died instantly in
a car accident around midnight. Tina had been a passenger in a car with a group of friends after
visiting a bar in Barnet. Unfortunately the car lost control, and the imbecile who was driving only
got six months in prison. Nevertheless... thing's happen for a reason and I forgive him for not
being responsible. You win some ...you lose some. Looking back, it was like Tina was saying good bye
to me the last time I saw her. To try and understand death is difficult especially to learn how Tina
had come out of the back window screen and hit her head on a lamp post. Car accidents happen a lot
today, more than twenty years ago, and if I see one I cant help wonder how long my Beautiful Tina
might have been laying on the curb before the ambulance arriving, and how many people were crowding
round her. Things which might be irrelevant now, but cannot skip from your mind when faced with a
tragedy like this. Tina was Artistic like our Father, and had just received her Art GCSE results
which she passed at QEGS. Tina was Happy, witty and bubbly... her friends loved being around her.
Tina was a caring person who was popular amongst her friend's, and never said anything nasty about
anyone. Tina is buried in Southgate cemetery, on top of our Great grand mother, which is opposite
our Father and Grand Father. So she has company, and is in God's safe hands now.
